MAA EC members seek disciplinary action against Naresh

Jeevitha Rajasekhar, the general secretary of the Movie Artist Association (MAA), along with 15 other executive committee (EC) members, has written a letter to the disciplinary committee seeking action against its president Naresh Vijaya Krishna (VK) for violating the association rules.

In a nine-page letter to the disciplinary committee, presided over by actors Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Krishnam Raju, Murali Mohan, and Jayasudha, the group led by Jeevitha alleged that Naresh is violating the association discipline with his authoritarian attitude, misappropriating funds, failing to raise funds through events and sponsors, and disobeying the decisions taken by the collective committee. They also reiterated that Naresh failed to deliver on promises and has not done proper work in the last few months.

"Naresh has been running the association unilaterally. He has seriously damaged the reputation of MAA and is turning deaf ear to the issues. He is not even paying a courtesy visit to an ailing member in the hospital and creating a monopoly with his actions. Also, he is insulting association members and getting into vindictive politics by blaming former president Shivaji Raja for his mistakes," said Jeevitha.

When Cinema Express tried to reach out to Naresh for clarification, he remained unavailable for comment as he was shooting for one of his upcoming films in Egypt. Naresh became the president of the organisation after the election results were announced last March.
