Shershaah first-look: Sidharth Malhotra pays ode to Vikram Batra

Sidharth Malhotra essays Kargil martyr Vikram Batra in his upcoming film, Shershaah. The war drama is directed by Vishnu Varadhan and produced by Karan Johar and Shabbir Boxwala. The film’s first-look posters were released today, featuring Siddharth in various scenes of combat.

Captain Vikram Batra, aged 24, was killed on Point 4875 in the Dras sub sector of Kargil on July 7, 1999. He was posthumously awarded the Pearam Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honour.
In the film, which will be releasd on July 3, Siddharth also essays Captain Batra’s twin brother. Shershaah stars Kiara Advani as the female lead. The cast includes Javed Jaffrey, Himanshu Malhotra, and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.
