Suriya's upcoming film with Vetri Maaran titled Vaadi Vaasal
The film will reportedly be based on the Tamil novel of the same name, written by the great Tamil writer CS Chellappa
Suriya's next film after Sudha Kongara's Soorarai Pottru, directed by Vetri Maaran, has been titled Vaadi Vaasal. The Asuran director made the announcement at the Vikatan Cinema Awards, last night. The film, produced by S Dhanu's V Creations, will reportedly be based on the Tamil novel of the same name, written by the great Tamil writer CS Chellappa. Vetri had notably acquired the rights for adapting the novel as early as 2017. The film is said to be based on the Jallikattu sport.
GV Prakash Kumar, a frequent collaborator of Vetrimaaran. will be composing the music for Vaadi Vaasal, which will incidentally be his 75th project. Except for Vada Chennai, GV Prakash has composed for all the other directorial ventures of Vetri Maaran including the filmmaker’s debut film, Polladhavan.
Vaadi Vaasal brings together Vetri Maaran and Suriya for the first time. The former has also signed a film starring comedian Soori. Suriya, meanwhile, has another film with director Siva in the offing, which will be bankrolled by Studio Green productions.
