Farhan was trained by boxer Drew Neal and action choreographer Darrell Foster (Ali, Bleed For This) for the film.

The script of Toofan is penned by Anjum Rajabali. The film stars Paresh Rawal as Farhan’s coach as Darshan Kumaar as his rival boxer. Mrunal Thakur, recently seen in Ghost Stories, plays the female lead. The cast also includes Isha Talwar, Rishi Kapoor, Jatin Sarna, Manoj Pahwa, and others.
