Fatima Sana Shaikh plays a Marathi girl in Abhishek Sharma’s Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, which is presently being shot in various parts of Mumbai. Set in the ‘90s, the film also stars Manoj Bajpayee and Diljit Dosanjh.

Fatima has trained extensively with a language coach on her Marathi diction. A source informs, “Fatima did multiple readings with director Abhishek Sharma and worked on her body language to fit the role before the film went on floor. She has completely transformed herself for the film. The audiences will be in for a real treat.”

Speaking on why he chose Fatima for the part, Abhishek Sharma shares, “Tulsi’s character has a dual personality for which we needed an actor who could play vulnerable, mysterious ad assertive with equal ease. Fatima is an excellent talent who has the quality to get into all these emotions at will. She is extremely punctual, very involved and dedicated with her work. Her infectious enthusiasm keeps us all energized on the set.”
