Ryan Reynolds to team up with James Bobin for Clue?

Actor Ryan Reynolds, whose last film 6 Underground saw him making his OTT debut, is in talks with director James Bobin of Muppets fame to direct the film adaptation of the classic board game Clue that will have the Deadpool actor playing the lead.

Director Jason Bateman was previously attached to this project that will be produced by Allspark Pictures and Reynolds himself. Bateman was also said to be playing a role in the film but that is also not possible now as he's busy with the Netflix series Ozark. Rheet Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote Reynolds' Deadpool, Deadpool 2 and 6 Underground, are on board for penning the script.

Clue is a game in which players take on the roles of guests at a mansion trying to deduce the identity of a killer. Before Fox, an adaptation was being developed at Universal, with one version having Gore Verbinski as director. Meanwhile, Reynolds has Free Guy, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, The Croods 2 and Red Notice in various stages of development.
