Paava Kadhaigal: The Netflix anthology's trailer is here

Netflix has released the trailer of the upcoming Tamil anthology, Paava Kadhaigal.

The trailer describes the anthology as one that deals with "honour, love, sin, pride" and as "Four stories, one rollercoaster of emotions." The anthology, with segments helmed by Vignesh Shivan, Sudha Kongara, Vetri Maaran, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, "explores the intricacies of complex relationships through four gut-wrenching stories."

Paava Kadhaigal features Simran, Anjali, Kalki Koechlin, Kalidas Jayaram, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Prakashraj, Sai Pallavi, Bhavani Sre, and Gautham Vasudev Menon himself.

The trailer gives a glimpse into the four shorts. Sudha Kongara's Thangam hints at a story of a conflict-stricken family. The equation between the characters played by Kalidas Jayaram and Shantanu Bhagyaraj might be something to look out for.

Vignesh Shivan's Love Panna Uttranum speaks about the troubles faced by a same-sex couple, portrayed by Anjali and Kalki Koechlin.

The trailer shows little about Vetri Maaran's Oor Iravu, but it hints at a conflicted relationship between a father and daughter, played by Sai Pallavi and Prakashraj.

Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vaanmagal shows a mother, played by Simran, pushing her daughter from a cliff — the same place where the girl plays with her dad and dreams of flying high like Kalpana Chawla.

The anthology will premiere on Netflix on December 18.
