Emma Stone, who was supposed to be part of Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, has exited the project over scheduling issues. According to reports, talks have been initiated to rope in Margot Robbie as a replacement. If it happens, the Bombshell actor will be reuniting with her Once Upon A Time co-star Brad Pitt.

Incidentally, Stone won an Oscar for Chazelle’s 2016 movie La La Land

Babylon will have a script by Chazelle, who will also direct the film. While not much is known about the story, it is speculated that the film will be about the industry’s transition from silent films to talkies in the 1920s.

It is reported that Robbie is in talks for the role of Clara Bow, who was an early starlet and box office star in Hollywood. Pitt will play the part of a film star who fails to adapt to the new technology; the part is rumoured to be inspired from John GIlbert.

Babylon will be produced by Marc Platt, Olivia Hamilton, Matthew Plouffe, and Tobey Maguire.
