After two months, Karan Johar returns to Instagram with an Independence Day post

Director-producer Karan Johar, who had quit social media for the past two months, returned to Instagram today with an Independence Day post.

“To our great nation….a treasure trove of culture, heritage and history….#happyindepedenceday … JAI HIND,” Karan wrote with a picture of the national flag.

On June 14, Karan had posted a long tribute after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput by suicide. In it, he regretted not keeping in touch with the actor and called it a ‘mistake’. The post was intensely trolled, followed by accusations of undermining Sushant’s career, making fun of him in the past, and promoting nepotism.

Karan was also named in a complaint filed in Bihar in connection with the suicide. Since then, Karan has stayed off social media save for updating his profile picture with the poster of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
