Camaron Engels lands lead role in upcoming Romeo and Juliet adaptation

In the upcoming adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Carey Williams, Camaron Engels has been cast to play the role of Romeo. Engels is known for his role in Netflix’s Malibu Rescue. He will also star in the streaming platform’s upcoming series, Clickbait.

According to reports, the Romeo and Juliet project, produced by Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov and Igor Tsay, is being tentatively referred to as R#J. Williams won a special jury prize for his short film Emergency at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.

Francesca Noel, best known for her role in Selah and the Spades, will play Juliet.

Reports suggest the production work for the film was being carried out in Los Angeles until the coronavirus shutdown.
