Captain Marvel 2 and Black Panther 2 get release dates

The release dates of Captain Marvel 2 and Black Panther 2, two highly-anticipated sequels of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, were unveiled along with the release plans of the films which got pushed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Black Panther 2 is scheduled to arrive in theatres on May 6, followed by Captain Marvel 2 on July 8. The two sequels were announced last year, but the date was kept under wraps. 

Ryan Coogler is set to return to helm the Black Panther sequel, but nothing else about the film, including the plot or even the returning cast, has been revealed.

Even less is known about the Captain Marvel sequel. Though it has been announced that an adult Monica Rambeau, daughter of Carol Danvers' best friend in Captain Marvel, will star in the upcoming WandaVision and be played by Teyonah Parris, it is unclear as of now whether this will influence the plot of Captain Marvel 2.
