Staying home is the best thing we can do: Asif Ali

Asif Ali was in the middle of shooting Rajeev Ravi's new film Kuttavum Shikshayum in Rajasthan when the coronavirus scare disrupted everything. In a video message, the actor revealed that he has been in self-quarantine for 11 days.

"Once I got back from Rajasthan, I was told to go into quarantine for 14 days from the airport. So I couldn't go home. I've been in self-quarantine for 11 days. Since we all are part of the lockdown, and since that's what's required of us, that's exactly what I have to talk about," he said.

"A lot of folks are risking their lives to keep us safe, especially policemen. They're doing now what we normally do — getting us food, medicines and whatnot. They are asking us to stay at home to prevent a community spread. Doctors are forgetting their families because they're working so hard. So the biggest thing we can do for them is staying home. Don't go out for small or unnecessary reasons. Once the situation goes out of control, it would be impossible to contain it. Keeping that in mind, let's overcome this together."

On the acting front, Asif has several interesting projects lined up. In addition to the Rajeev Ravi film, he recently completed shooting for RJ Mathukutty's directorial debut Kunjeldho, which is a campus-based entertainer.

He is also set to team up with Rajisha Vijayan again in director Jibu Jacob's Ellaam Sheriyaakum. He will be also collaborating for the third time with Adventures of Omanakuttan and Iblis director Rohith VS for a relationship drama.
