Shashikala dubs for Radhika Kumaraswamy’s Damayanti
The film set in the 1980s, will see Radhika sporting three different get-ups
Shashikala, the voice artist who rose to fame for lending voice to Soundarya's Nagavalli in Apthamitra, has now dubbed for Radhika Kumaraswamy in the upcoming film, Damayanti.
After conducting voice tests with 23 dubbing artistes, the makers have finally decided to bring Shashikala on board. “Radhika, who usually dubs for her films, felt that she will not be able to do justice with her voice, so we decided to go with Shashikala. We were told that Shashikala has not been working for the last three years. However, she considered our request and completed dubbing for the film. With her voice, Radhika's character will now reach a whole new level,” says producer-director Navarasan.
The film will simultaneously be dubbed and released in four other languages. The teaser will be launched on September 18.
Damayanti, set in the 1980s, will see Radhika sporting three different get-ups. Apart from her, the film also stars Bhajarangi Loki, Anusha Ravi, Vishal’s father, GK Reddy, Raj Bahadhur, Sadhu Kokila, and Tabla Nani in pivotal roles.
