Actor Suriya has joined hands with his Veedokkade-director KV Anand for Bandobast, the dubbed version of the Tamil film Kaappaan.

Billed as a high-voltage actioner, the film presents Suriya in two different avatars — as a farmer and a Special Protection Group (SPG) officer. According to reports, the film revolves around the cat-and-mouse game between an SPG officer and a spy who plots to kill Prime Minister Chandrakanth, played by Mohanlal.

Today, the makers announced that the pre-release event of Bandobast will be held in Hyderabad on Friday (September 13). "We are elated by the reception to our film's teaser and trailer. The way Mohanlal and Suriya approached their characters is brilliant and their camaraderie in the film is going to delight the audience," reads a statement from the makers.

Produced by Lyca Productions, Bandobast also has Arya, Sayesshaa Saigal, Boman Irani and Samuthirakani in supporting roles. The Harris Jayaraj-musical is slated for a simultaneous release in Tamil and Telugu on September 20.
