It's going to be a season of celebration for Kannada cinema fans with Rakshit Shetty and Dhruva Sarja both getting releases during the Christmas weekend

Published: 21st October 2019

Looks like the year 2019 will end with a double dhamaka for Kannada cinema fans as two big films —Nanda Kishore's Drhuva Sarja-starrer Pogaru and Rashit Shetty's Avane Srimannarayana, which marks the directorial debut of Sachin Ravi — are both scheduled to hit theatres on December 27. This follows after the latter film's team announced their new release date.

The Avane Srimannarayana team, which had earlier planned to bring their film out by November end, have now postponed the release by one month.  Rashit Shetty took to his official twitter account to announce this, adding that December 27 will mark the third anniversary his last release, Kirik Party.

The period cop drama, jointly produced by Pushkar Mallikarjunaiah and HK Prakash will get a worldwide release in five langauges. Aside from Rakshit Shetty, the film also features Shanvi Srivastava as the female lead, along with Balaji Manohar, Achyuth Kumar, and Pramod Shetty in the star cast. With music by Chran Raj and background scroe by Ajanessh B Loknath, the camerawork is by Karm Chawla.

Meanwhile, though there has been no official announcement made by the makers of Pogaru, Dhruva Sarja, in his recent media interactions, had mentioned that the film will be released on December 27. Currently work is going on keeping end-of-the-year release in mind, according to the production house. Produced by BK Gangadhar, the film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, is a bilingual made in Kananda and Telugu. The "action-packed family drama" also features Dhananjay as antagonist, and the cast includes actors Tara and Ravi Shankar in pivotal roles. Pogaru has music by V Harikrishna and cineamtography by Vijay Milton.
