Christmas celebrations may begin a bit early for Kannada film lovers with the makers of Darshan-starrer Odeya planning to release the film on December 20. If this happens, it will set up a clash with the Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg 3. The latter film, directed by Prabhudheva, also features Sudeep, and get a simultaneous release in five languages, including Kannada.

Though no official announcement has been made, Odeya producer Sandesh Nagaraj feels mid-December will be an ideal time for the film. “A release date will be announced after we present the film to the censor board,” the producer adds.

Meanwhile, Odeya's director Shridhar and his team, who are busy with the post-production work, will leave for Switzerland on October 15. Darshan, who is currently shooting for Tharun Sudhir’s Roberrt in Mysuru, will be joining the Odeya crew for the next 10 days to shoot two song sequences. The team also plans to unveil the film’s teaser soon.

Odeya marks the debut of model-turned-actor Raghavi Thimmayya. It also features an ensemble cast that includes Yashas, Pankaj, Niranjan, Samarth, Ravi Shankar, Devaraj, Sadhu Kokila, Chikkanna, and Avinash. Odeya’s songs have been composed by Arjun Janya and its background score is by V Harikrishna. Krishna Kumar is handling the camerawork.
