Vijay Sethupathi to play Kamal Haasan's villain in Indian 2?

Kamal Haasan is currently shooting for Shankar's Indian 2, the sequel to the film of the same name, which released in 1996.

At the recently-concluded Ungal Naan musical tribute which celebrated Kamal Haasan's 60 years in cinema, Vijay Sethupathi, who was last seen in Sanga Thamizhan, made a revelation. Speaking at the event, the actor stated that he was offered a crucial role in Indian 2, but he couldn't take it up because of date issues. He also claimed that he requested Kamal Haasan to give him another opportunity, when possible. 

Now, it looks like Vijay Sethupathi's wish has come true. Speculations suggest that he has been signed to play the antagonist in Indian 2. Also, he's expected to begin shooting for his portions from mid-February 2020, according to reports.

The film, produced by Lyca Production boasts of an ensemble star cast including Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Bobby Simha. Director Shankar and his team have completed a schedule each in Chennai and Gwalior, till now.
