Bhumika, Ankur, Meghe Dhaka Tara, among films to be screened at 50th IFFI

Bhumika, Ankur, Meghe Dhaka Tara, among films to be screened at 50th IFFI

The 50th edition of IFFI will have a section called ‘The Indian New Wave Films’ among which Indian films like Shyam Benegal’s Bhumika (1976), starring Amol Palekar, Smita Patil and Amrish Puri, along with Ankur (1973), that had Anant Nag and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles, will be screened.

Along with these two, other films which will be screened under the same section include Ajantrik (1957), Meghe Dhaka Tara (1960), Bhuvan Shome (1969), Swayamvaram (1972), Uttarayanam (1974), Thampu (1978), Uski Roti (1969), Duvidha (1973), Tarang (1972), and Agraharathil Kazhuthai (1977).

The 2019 Golden Jubilee edition of the International Film Festival of India will take place from the 20th to the 28th of November at Panjim, Goa.
