‘Our country needs to move on’: Bollywood reacts to Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya dispute
Hindi film personalities have welcomed the Ayodhya verdict, urging everyone to respect the Supreme Court’s decision and maintain peace and harmony.
Bollywood celebrities have welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ayodhya-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. On Saturday, the apex court ended the seven-decade-long title suit by ruling in favour of the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. The 2.77-acre land — where the Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992 — is claimed to be the birthplace of Lord Ram by Hindu groups.
The Supreme Court ordered the Centre to form a trust to oversee all matters, including the construction of the temple. The 5-judge bench also allotted 5 acres of alternative land to the Sunni Waqf Board, for building a mosque at a ‘prominent site’ in Ayodhya.
Hindi film personalities like Farhan Akhtar, Taapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi, Vivek Oberoi and others tweeted about the verdict, urging everyone to respect the Supreme Court’s decision and maintain peace and harmony.
