Nikhil Dwivedi plans franchise on female superhero

Nikhil Dwivedi, who made his production debut with Veere Di Wedding, is set to create a franchise based on a female superhero. Titled Nagin, the three-part film series will be spread across continents and present a modern take on an ‘Ichchadhari Nagin’ (shape-shifting serpent) with superpowers. Nikhil is in the process of finalising an actress for the project, which is touted to be India’s first female superhero film.

The producer founded his company, Saffron Broadcast and Media Ltd, in 2018. His upcoming production venture is Dabangg 3, which he has co-produced alongside Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan. The film is set for release on December 20.

Nikhil has also obtained the Hindi remake rights of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. The project is being written by Anurag Kashyap. It was recently rumoured that actor Shah Rukh Khan had been approached to play the Bill-equivalent in the film. This was, however, shot down by Nikhil, who called it ‘fake news’.
