Nadigar Sangam election date announced

The elections are to take place at Sathya Studios, Chennai, between 7 am and 5 pm on June 23

The South Indian Film Artistes Association will hold polls on June 23 to elect office bearers for the 2019-2022 period. In an emergency working committee meeting held a couple of weeks ago, the outgoing committee of the Nadigar Sangam nominated retired Justice E Padmanabhan as the election officer, and he was tasked with fixing the date and venue for the elections, as well as the supervision of the electoral procedure.

The elections are to take place in Chennai at Sathya Studios (Dr MGR Janaki Arts and Science College) between 7 am and 5 pm. Members of the association will be voting for the President (1), Vice-President (2), General Secretary (1), Treasurer (1), and the Executive Committee (24). 

The nominations will be opened on June 7 at 11 am and will end on June 10 at 4 pm. Candidates who have paid membership fees from January 31 of 2013 through to 2019 are eligible to file nominations. The filing timings are 11 am to 5 pm between June 8 and June 10. The final list of nominees will be released at 5 pm on June 14.

The current outgoing Managing Committee consists of Nasser (President), Ponvannan (Vice President), Karunas (Vice President), Vishal (General Secretary), and Karthi (Treasurer).
