Ahead of the release of Mr. Local, the film's cast and crew met the press as part of its promotions. B Sakthivelan of Sakthi Film Factory, which is distributing the film, expressed happiness at being associated with Sivakarthikeyan after Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga. "Families come in large numbers to watch his films, regardless of release timing, but when a film like Mr. Local gets released during the summer holidays, it is just perfect."

Hiphop Aadhi, who is collaborating with Sivakarthikeyan and Studio Green for the first time, conveyed his gratitude to the audience for making the song, Takkunu Takkunu, go viral. "We have now released my most favourite song, Nee Nenacha, sung beautifully by Sid Sriram," he said. He also pointed out that he has introduced two new rappers, Sangan and Paul B Solus, in this album, as with his other films. Aadhi has written two songs himself while the other two have been written by KR Dharan and Mirchi Vijay, who was the emcee at the event.

Gnanavel Raja also professed his gratitude to Sivakarthikeyan. "In my 14 years in the film industry, Mr. Local is the film that has come at a particularly crucial time for me. I will be forever thankful to Sivakarthikeyan."

Director Rajesh said, "Usually, my films have scenes involving alcohol or ridiculing women for breaking up. Sivakarthikeyan asked me to avoid these. I can promise that Mr. Local will be a clean, colourful entertainer."

Sivakarthikeyan took to the stage last and said that he has always wanted to work with Rajesh. "I worked in a television channel years ago, and was asked to dub in Rajini's voice for a song in Siva Manasula Sakthi. I would say that the biggest turning point of my career, Varuthapadatha Valiba Sangam, happened because of him, as the director Ponram was an assistant of his."

Siva believes casting to be Mr. Local's biggest strength, especially the presence of Nayanthara. "She didn't have much screen space in Velaikkaran, our first film together; I have been regretting that ever since. In Mr. Local, she will be seen from the 15th minute, all the way till the end. This isn't necessarily a film about something new. It doesn't even have a villain. It is just supposed to be a summer entertainer."
