Vijay Sethupathi, who recently won critical acclaim for his performance in Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Super Deluxe, is currently in talks to star in the sequel to his 2013 comedy, Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara. This follow up will apparently also be directed by Gokul,  who helmed the original.

"Nothing is official yet. We have just now initiated talks. We will come out with an official announcement once everything falls in place," says a source close to the project.

Notably, Gokul has worked with Vijay Sethupathi twice before. While Junga (2018) was a commercial failure, Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara and the Sumar Moonji Kumaru character that Sethupathi played in the film went on to become huge hits.

Meanwhile, the actor has several other films in hand, including Sindhubaadh, Laabam, Sanga Tamizhan, and Maamanithan in Tamil, Marconi Mathai in Malayalam, and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Uppena in Telugu.
