Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey join Sacred Games 2

The second season of the crime drama will stream later this year on Netflix

Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey have joined the cast of Sacred Games 2. The second season of the Netflix India show is slated for release on the OTT platform later this year. Kalki will be seen playing a character called Batiya, while Ranvir will join the cast as Shahid Khan.

"I am a fan of the series, and it is super awesome to be a part of the Sacred Games and Netflix family. Season 2 promises to be much more exciting and I cannot wait for viewers to watch me in the series," says Kalki, who was last seen in Gully Boy and Made in Heaven.

Ranvir adds, "The digital platform is so empowering and working on this audience-favourite show has been an absolute delight. My character in Sacred Games 2, Shahid Khan, is a complete departure from any of the roles I've played before, and I'm looking forward to fans across the world bingeing on the new season."

Pankaj Tripathi, whose mysterious guru character was briefly introduced in the the first season, plays a prominent part in the Sacred Games 2

Like the previous season, Anurag Kashyap has directed the portions featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui as kingpin Ganesh Gaitonde in Sacred Games 2. Showrunner Vikramaditya Motwane, who directed the Saif Ali Khan/Sartaj Singh portions in Season 1, has passed on directing duties to Neeraj Ghawyan.
