Nikhil, Swathi to reunite for Karthikeya sequel

The actor, who currently awaits the release Arjun Suravaram on May 17, will sport a six-pack, lean, brawny look in this sequel.

The much-awaited sequel to actor Nikhil's 2014 mystery thriller Karthikeya is all set to go on floors this summer. Interestingly, the original cast of Karthikeya including leading lady Swathi Reddy will be reuniting with their director Chandoo Mondeti for the second instalment, which  The film will also have another female lead besides Swathi and the makers are on the lookout for her. 

Nikhil, who currently awaits the release Arjun Suravaram on May 17, will sport a six-pack, lean, brawny look in this sequel. Set in the backdrop of Subramanyapuram, Karthikeya revolved around a medical student Karthik, played by Nikhil, who unravels the secret behind the series of mysterious deaths around an ancient Subramanya Swamy temple. According to reports, the sequel, which is set in the backdrop of Kumbh Mela, will pick up from where the first part ended. 

The principal shooting will commence by the end of May or the first week of June and the makers are planning to shoot Karthikeya 2 in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of India. Besides Telugu, the film is expected to release in Hindi and Malayalam.
