AR Rahman, Lydian Nadhaswaram to collaborate for an album?

Lydian Nadhaswaram, who recently won the title prize at 'The World's Best', was hailed by AR Rahman as India's Musical Ambassador. "Looking at Lydian, it gives me hope. It is an inspiration in times when we question if it is the right time to live. We all could use hope and inspiration," he said meeting the press with the young prodigy, who is a student at Rahman's KM Conservatory.

Incidentally, Rahman also started the Sunshine Orchestra, constituted by students from the conservatory, whom he has used in his film projects. When asked if Rahman would use Lydian's skills, the maestro said that Lydian is destined for bigger things. "I want grander stages for him and limit him as a session pianist. I want him to be India's answer to China's Lang Lang."

Showering praises on the young pianist, Rahman further said that Lydian's success has made him more happy than his own. "I have always felt Chennai has been ignored. Lydian's success has brought recognition to our city and it's unique cultural sensibilities." He further added he is open to collaborate with Lydian for an album. Notably, Lydian has played for Rahman in the show, Harmony with AR
