Vijay's Thalapathy 63 title: Speculations rife ahead of the official announcement

The film, Atlee's third collaboration with Vijay, is touted to be a sports drama, with the Sarkar actor playing a football coach

Vijay, who was recently seen in Sarkar, is currently working on his upcoming sports film with director Atlee, referred to as Thalapathy 63. With many eagerly waiting for an update on this project, it was recently announced that first look of the film, with the title, will be unveiled at 6 pm today, and the second look at 12 am tonight, to coincide with Vijay's birthday.

While speculations are rife about the film's title, several reports claim that Asaalt (அசால்ட்) is the makers' final choice. We will soon know if this is indeed true.

With the film in its final leg of shoot, we hear that the team will be moving to Delhi soon to shoot some important portions. Earlier this month, AR Rahman, the composer of Thalapathy 63, had taken to Twitter to announce that the first edits of two songs from the film are ready.

The film, Atlee's third collaboration with Vijay, is touted to be a sports drama, with the Sarkar actor playing a football coach. Starring Nayanthara as the female lead, the film also features Indhuja, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha, and Reba Monica John as footballers, whose team will be coached by Vijay's character. Apart from them, Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Vivekh, and Yogi Babu are also part of Thalapathy 63playing supporting characters.

Produced by Archana Kalpathi, under the banner of AGS Entertainments, Thalapathy 63 is slated for a Diwali release. We also hear that the TN distribution rights of the film have been acquired by Screen Scene Entertainment for a whopping amount.
