Director-actors Sasikumar and Samuthirakani will reportedly be starring together yet again in Ponram's upcoming film. The duo, which had previously worked together in multiple films like Subramaniapuram, Naadodigal, Easan, and Poraali, is currently awaiting the release of Nadodigal 2, co-starring Athulya Ravi and Anjali. Reports state that veteran director Bharathiraja has also been approached to play an important role in the Ponram's yet-to-be-titled film.

It can be noted that Sasikumar and Bharathiraja are currently working in Susienthiran's Kennedy Club and Samuthirakani had previously played the antagonist in Ponram's 2016 film, Rajini Murugan.  If the speculations are true, the upcoming film, which is it is expected to be a rural comedy just like his earlier films, would break the hattrick combination of Sivakarthikeyan and Ponram.

Meanwhile, it has also been speculated that Ponram will once again work on a project with Sivakarthikeyan in the lead after completing this project.
