Pooja Hegde not part of Suriya's Soorarai Pottru
The actor, who was last seen in Mahesh Babu's Maharshi, is currently shooting for the Hindi biggie, Houseful 4
Suriya, who was last seen in Selvaraghavan's NGK, is busy shooting for his next, Soorarai Pottru, directed by Irudhi Suttru filmmaker, Sudha Kongara. Recently, speculations were rife that Pooja Hegde, who was last seen in Mahesh Babu's Maharshi, is in talks to play the second female lead in the film.
But, a source close to the actor has strongly denied the rumours. "Pooja was never approached by the makers. She is currently shooting for AA 19, Allu Arjun's upcoming film with Trivikram and the Hindi film, Housefull4. She will start shooting for Varun Tej-starrer Valmiki by June end. She has not committed to any films after that," the source adds. Interestingly, Pooja had made her feature film debut with the Tamil film, Mugamoodi seven years back.
Soorarai Pottru, starring Sarvam Thaala Mayam-actor Aparna Balamurali as the heroine, is speculated to be based on the life of famous entrepreneur, GR Gopinath, the founder of India's first budget airline, Air Deccan.
Famous Hollywood stunt choreographer Greg Powell, who has to his credit big budget films like Skyfall, Fast and Furious, and Bourne Ultimatum, recently joined the film's crew in its first schedule in Chhattisgarh.
The film, jointly produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Guneet Monga, has cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy of U-Turn fame and editing by Sathish Suriya. Soorarai Pottru will incidentally mark the first collaboration between music director GV Prakash Kumar and Suriya.
