2.0 to release in China on July 12, gets retitled Robot 2.0: Resurgence
It may be noted that Vijay's 2017 film Mersal and Susienthiran's upcoming sports film, Kennedy Club, starring Sasikumar and Bharathiraja, will be getting a China release
We had previously told you that Shankar's 2.0 would be released in 56,000 screens in China in May this year. But it has now been announced that the film will get a slightly delayed release and hit screens in that country on July 12, due to undisclosed issues. The dubbed version has been rechristened as Robot 2.0: Resurgence.
Though the screen count of the film hasn't been announced yet, it is expected that it will cross 50,000. This means that the Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar-starrer might be getting the widest-ever 3D release for any film in China. The production house, Lyca will be joining hands with HY Media for the Chinese release of the film, which will be available in both dubbed and subtitled versions. It may be noted that Vijay's 2017 film, Mersal and Susienthiran's upcoming sports film, Kennedy Club, starring Sasikumar and Bharathiraja, will also be getting a China release.
