Tovino Thomas wields a chainsaw in latest Kalki poster

We had previously reported that Tovino Thomas plays a police officer in the upcoming Kalki. The makers have now released online a character poster along with a brief behind-the-scenes video showing the actor wielding a chainsaw, supposedly for an exciting action sequence.

Touted as a mass action thriller, the Praveen Prabharam directorial is being readied for an August 8 release. Praveen previously worked as an assistant director in Fellini TP’s Theevandi, starring Tovino and Samyuktha Menon. Samyuktha has also been cast in Kalki as a negative character.

The post-production work of the film is currently underway. Prasobh Krishna and Suvin K Varkey are backing the film under the banner of Litte Big Films. Cinematographer Gautham Shankar, who debuted with Theevandi, has also shot Kalki.

Tovino is currently shooting for Edakkad Battalion 06, which has him paired with Samyuktha once again after Theevandi. The former is playing an army officer for the first time in the film.
