Disney is on a reboot rampage, and the latest to join that list is Mulan, which is slated to release on March 27, 2020.
Chinese actor Liu Yifei will play the titular character, who is the daughter of an ageing warrior, Fa Zhou. Mulan impersonates as a man to replace her father in a general conscription during the Han Dynasty.
Disney shared the first poster of the film, which features Yifei as Mulan. This will be a reboot of the much-loved 1998 animated movie.
Actors Tzi Ma, Donnie Yen, Yoson An, Gong Li, and Jet Li are also part of the cast. Directed by Niki Caro, the new film features a script originally penned by Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek, and rewritten by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
Meanwhile, Disney's photorealistic computer-animated reboot of The Lion King will hit the screens on July 19.
