Ryan Reynolds to star in romcom Shotgun Wedding
Directed by Jason Moore, the film is based on an original script by writer Mark Hammer and New Girl screenwriter Liz Meriwether
After almost a decade, Ryan Reynolds is finally taking up a romantic lead role with Shotgun Wedding. Reynolds said that he hasn't done a romantic comedy since The Proposal (which was released in 2009) and upon hearing the script of Shotgun Wedding, he immediately fell in love because it was so refreshing and surprising.
According to its synopsis, the film "tells a hilarious, adrenaline-fuelled story of a couple whose extravagant destination wedding is taken over by criminals. In the process of saving their families, they rediscover why they wanted to get married in the first place."
Directed by Jason Moore, the film is based on an original script by writer Mark Hammer and New Girl screenwriter Liz Meriwether, and is produced by Reynolds himself.
The Deadpool actor's upcoming films are Michael Bay's 6 Underground and Rob Letterman's Pokemon: Detective Pikachu.
