The second venture of Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions, Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu, went on floors yesterday. Production was kicked off by Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj, director of Neelam Productions’ first venture, Pariyerum Perumal

Directed by debutant Athiyan Athirai, the film stars Dinesh, Riythvika, Anekha, Munishkanth, and Ramesh Thilak. Athiyan is an erstwhile assistant of Ranjith and has worked on films like Kaala, Kabali, and Madras

The director had earlier told us that Gundu would be a travel film. “It will address hierarchical and caste politics in India and how a man frees himself from such shackles,” he said.

The film, with music by newcomer Tenma, will be shot in Chennai, Puducherry, Villupuram, and Panruti.
