Mayuri joins cast of Dhruva Sarja-Rashmika Mandanna's Pogaru

It is clear that serious thought has gone into the casting of Pogaru, especially given the surprises the makers have been springing on us. With Dhruva Sarja and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, the team of the film, directed by Nanda Kishore, has managed to bring on board actors such as Raghavendra Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Dhananjay to play pivotal roles. The latest to join the cast is Mayuri, who has been trying to create a niche for herself in the Kannada industry.

“Mayuri, who has taken up impactful roles in the past, will be seen in a prominent role in Pogaru,” says our source, adding that details of her role will be revealed by the director at the ‘right time’. 

The actor, who will be shooting for the film for 25 days, has a number of films in her kitty. Having completed shooting for Aatakuntu Lekakila, Nanna Prakara, and Rustum, she will now get busy with Pogaru. “Being known as just a heroine doesn’t sound that great to me. It is important for me to be known as a performer, and such roles help me explore my versatility,” explains Mayuri. 

The cast also includes Ravi Shankar, Kari Subbu, Chikkanna and Pavithra Lokesh. With Harikrishna scoring the music and Vijay Milton as the film’s cinematographer, the shooting of Pogaru is currently going on in Hyderabad.
