Sharman Joshi’s next film, Fauji Calling, pays tribute to the families of martyred soldiers. The military drama is directed by Aaryaan Saxena, whose short film Mukti was screened at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

About the upcoming film, Sharman shares, “Fauji Calling is a film I am really excited about. It's a celebration of what a soldier contributes to our country and in effect, what a soldier expects from the society. This is a script that I am really looking forward to working on and I am glad that we are now very close to starting on it.”

Aaryaan, who makes his feature film debut with this project, says, “Till now in our films, people have seen war, but Fauji Calling will showcase the family of martyred soldiers. My film is all about the kind of challenges they face, and the battles they fight. It will show how the family moves on in life despite being emotionally broken.”

Actor Ranjha Vikram Singh, who stars alongside Sharman, adds, “I chose to do Fauji Calling because during my school days, whenever anyone asked what I wanted to become in life, I used to say, 'I want to join Indian Army and be a soldier'. I grew up watching Sylvester Stallon movies. When Aaryaan narrated this fantastic script, I felt emotional.”

Fauji Calling also stars Bidita Bag, Mugdha Godse, and Zarina Wahab. The film is being produced by Ovez Productions, Causeway Media Network and Running Horses Studios.
