Though there are many suggestions that The Irishman can be watched as a TV series, the director of the film, Martin Scorsese, is dead against the idea
Martin Scorsese said in a recent interview that he is against the idea of watching his latest Netflix release The Irishman in parts like a TV series.
“You could say, ‘This is a long story, you can play it out over two seasons.’ I saw somebody mention that. Absolutely no,” he was quoted as saying by reports. The Raging Bull director added that he never thought of it on those lines.
He also said, “A series is great. It’s wonderful. You can develop characters and plot lines and worlds are recreated, but this wasn’t right for that.”
The Irishman, starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, has released to a great reception.
Earlier, Martin Scorcese’s comment on superhero films led to a controversy. He called the genre of the films is not cinema but close to a theme park.
