Ranveer Singh wraps up London schedule of ‘83

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film recreates the Indian cricket team’s history win at the 1983 Cricket World Cup

Ranveer Singh has wrapped up the London schedule of Kabir Khan’s ‘83. The film recreates the Indian cricket team’s history win at the 1983 Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

Ranveer, who essays the role of former Indian skipper Kapil Dev in the film, shot in the UK over the last three months. Shooting locations for the film included Turnbridge Wells, Dulwich College, The Oval and Glasgow.

The ensemble cast of ‘83 features Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Jiiva, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Adinath Kothare, Chirag Patil, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khattar, Pankaj Tripathi, R Badree, Dinker Sharma, Dhairya Karwa, Nishant Dahiya and others.

Boman Irani has been cast to play Farookh Engineer in the film, while Deepika Padukone will have a special appearance as Kapil Dev’s wife, Romi Dev.

‘83 is scheduled for release on April 10, 2020. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.  

Ranveer Singh was last seen in Simmba and Gully Boy. After ‘83, the actor will essay a Gujarati man in Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar
