Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson team up for Marry Me

Actors Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson will be seen on screen together for the first time since 1997's Anaconda. A romantic comedy, Marry Me will be directed by Kat Coiro from a script written by John Rogers and Tami Sagher, with a rewrite by Harper Dill.

Based on a graphic novel by Bobby Crosby, the film is expected to centre on a pop star played by Lopez, who finds out moments before her marriage to her rock star fiance, at Madison Square Garden, that he cheated on her with her assistant. She then breaks down on stage and proceeds to marry a random man from the crowd (Wilson) instead.

Adam Fogelson, Chairman of STX films, which is producing this project, says, “Owen Wilson is a hilarious and charismatic addition to the film, and the perfect person to play opposite Jen in a role that was quite literally made for her.”

Expected to go on floors this fall, the film will mark the third collaboration between STX, Lopez, and producers Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina, following Second Act (2018) and the upcoming Hustlers.
