High demand for dubbing rights of Raai Laxmi-starrer Jhansi

PVR Guruprasad’s upcoming directorial, Jhansi, starring Raai Laxmi in the role of an IPS officer, is now in the post-production stage. While the dubbing work is currently underway, the team will soon start work on re-recording and VFX. The actor’s last film was the 2012 film, Kalpana, co-starring Upendra.

Incidentally, Jhansi will be stunt master Thriller Manju’s 500th film. The female-centric film, which has several intense action sequences, will see Laxmi participating in daredevil stunts, for which the actor underwent training in martial arts. We got hold of the latest stills of Jhansi that feature Laxmi in two shades -- one as a police officer and the second in a glamorous avatar.

According to the director PVR Guruprasad, the film’s Hindi dubbing rights have already been sold, and owing to the actor’s popularity, the dubbing rights in the other South Indian languages are in demand as well. In all likelihood, the film will be dubbed and released in Tamil and Telugu.

While Shrijit plays the male lead, Ravi Kale and Mukesh Tiwari play supporting roles in Jhansi. The film has music by Krupakar MN and cinematography by Veeresh.
