Mahesh Bhatt returns to filmmaking after 19 years with Sadak 2; teaser out

The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead roles

On the eve of Mahesh Bhatt's 70th birthday, Alia Bhatt unveiled the announcement teaser of Sadak 2, a sequel to the director's 1990 hit Sadak that will mark his return to filmmaking after a haitus of 19 years. The film, which will witness the onscreen reunion of Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt, will also star Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. 

Like the spider gets its thread from his own guts. The narrative of Sadak 2 is pulled out from my lived life. It's a film about living, loving and dealing with the anguish of the loss of a loved one," says Mahesh Bhatt. 

His last directorial venture was the 1999 film Kartoos starring Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala. He had since announced his retirement from filmmaking before deciding to make a comeback with Sadak 2, which will be produced by Mukesh Bhatt under their family banner of Vishesh Films.

Sanjay Dutt was last seen in the crime thriller film, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3. Besides Sadak 2, his upcoming films include KalankTorbaaz, the Hindi remake of Prasthanam and Panipat
