Suniel Shetty to play antagonist in Pirangipura

Pirangipura, starring Sanchari Vijay in the lead, has already created a buzz with its first look. The film is directed by Janardhana P Johnny, who now takes the project to another level by bringing in Suniel Shetty. The Bollywood actor will play the role of a king, who is the film's antagonist.

Interestingly, this will his second film in Kannada; the first one was Sudeep-starrer, Phailwaan, which was directed by S Krishna.

Janardhana met Suniel in Mumbai. “I feel lucky to have him on board,” says the filmmaker, adding, “An established Bollywood actor, Suniel Shetty is interested in Karnataka and the Kannada langauge. Although he liked the concept of our film, it was only after five to six rounds of discussions, that he gave his nod to be part of the project.”

The team will be shooting Suniel portions from August in Rajasthan, which is when the director plans to reveal the first look of the actor. A psychological drama and thriller, the story is mostly based in Rajasthan. The film has music by Shyam L Raj and cinematography by Jaikrishna.
