Indiana Jones 5 release pushed to 2021

Disney has pushed back the release of Indiana Jones 5 by one year, to July 9, 2021. Last month, it was first reported that the Harrison Ford-starrer would miss its 2020 launch date. The film was initially set to open July 10, 2020, but production was ultimately delayed because of script issues.

Steven Spielberg will direct the fifth outing in the classic adventure series, with Ford reprising his starring role. Jonathan Kasdan, son of Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote the screenplay for Raiders of the Lost Ark, will draft a new script for the film after original writer David Koepp left the project to direct Blumhouse Production's You Should Have Left.

Disney has also made a few other changes to its calendar. Dwayne Johnson-starrer Jungle Cruise will now open on Oct 11, 2019, while Angelina Jolie's Maleficent 2 will hit theatres on May 29, 2020.
