Samantha confirms doing U-Turn remake in Tamil, Telugu

They have been reports that Pawan Kumar would be directing the remake of his Kannada hit U-Turn in Tamil and Telugu, and that it will feature Samantha Akkikeni. The news has now been confirmed with the actor herself tweeting a few details about the project. "Shoot begins in Feb for @pawanfilms #Uturn #Tamil and #Telugu, produced by Srinivasaa silver screen," she wrote.

Meanwhile, the filmmaker gives us more details about the two remakes. "The first schedule was supposed to start from February 10, but unfortunately Samantha had a small accident at the sets and injured her left hand. We are now rescheduling the dates while we wait for her to recover. In all likelihood, we will begin filming from the last week of February," he says.

Pawan will begin his shooting with a flyover sequence. "We couldn't find the right location in either Chennai or Hyderabad. I found this flyover 500 km from Hyderabad and we will be shooting there. The rest of U Turn’s schedule has been planned for March, April and may extend to May," he says.

Besides Samantha, who plays the protagonist, the film’s cast includes Aadhi Pinisetty, who will play a cop. The boyfriend's role, which had been played by Dilip Raj in the original, will be reprised by Rahul Ravindran. The actor who will star as the ghost, which was played by Radhika Chetan in the original, has still not been finalised, but the team is in talks with Bhumika and Shriya Saran.

As for technicians, as of now, they have roped in Niketh Bommi as the film's cinematographer.
