Shankar's 2.0, which has been continuing to perform well at the box office, despite the mixed reviews, will be released in 56,000 screens in China in May 2019. This means that the Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer will be getting the widest ever 3D release for any film in the country.

The production house Lyca, will be joining hands with HY Media for the Chinese release of the film, which will be available in both dubbed and subtitled versions to the audience. It may be noted that Vijay's 2017 film Mersal is slated for release in China soon and the Chinese release rights of Susienthiran's Kennedy Club, starring Sasikumar, has been sold much ahead of its release.

Considering the fact that China has one of the largest number of screens in the world, and many Indian films, such as Aamir Khan's Dangal, have performed extremely well in the country, 2.0 might set a new record there.
