Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are back with the third instalment of their comedy franchise, Yamla Pagla Deewana. Titled Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, the film reunites the Deol trio after a gap of five years. The film's trailer was launched today in Mumbai.

"We wanted to make Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se for a long time. The first film worked very well while the second one flopped. We are Jatts, so we weren't ready to back down. We have tried our best to revive the franchise," Dharmendra said at the event.

Despite a few recent failures, fans have continued to regard the Deols as 'superstars'. When quizzed about this, Dharmendra quipped, "These adjectives require a special talent. We are not stars but actors. 'Superstar' is a word brought in by Rajesh Khanna. He had the right charisma for that definition. We don't have it. We just want to be how we are."

Bobby Deol's career hit a rough patch before his comeback in Race 3. Praising the resilience of his younger son, Dharmendra said, "There are ups and downs in everyone's life. I have been through the same too. It's a big thing to make a comeback and I am very happy for him. He is working very hard now. He is always at the gym, the way I was always at the bar (laughs)."

To this, Bobby Deol added, "I've always had a fan-following. They were upset that I wasn't doing movies or taking care of myself. So it dawned on me to do the right thing and make a comeback. I worked on my diet and health a lot. My father is 82 and he still has so much fire to work. That inspired me a lot. Then I met Salman Khan, who inspired me too. I am grateful for all the love I've received since Race 3. I hope everyone enjoys YPD 3 too."

The title of the YPD franchise pays tribute to Dharmendra's hit song from the 1975 film, Pratigya. Reminiscing how the classic number came together, Dharmendra said, "Anand Bakshi was a great lyricist. He met me and wrote the song on my personality, thus the words 'Jatt Yamla Pagla Deewana'. Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the wonderful track. Rafi sang it so beautifully. And I just danced my heart out. The song has endured in people hearts."

Sunny Deol is directing his son Arjun's debut film, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. "There's a lot that needs to be said about that film. It's a mega project for me. I will reveal more in good time," he said.

When requested to share his memories of late actor Sridevi, who would've turned 55 on August 13, Dharmendra said, "I met her while shooting for Naaka Bandi. She was a very nice person. We weren't that close afterwards. I am an emotional person and I feel very sad we lost her so early. I remember she used to bring home-cooked food for us while we were shooting."
