Aindrata Ray's look from Rambo 2 revealed

Aindrita Ray celebrated her birthday yesterday, and the makers of Rambo 2 made it special by releasing images of her look from the special song, Dum Maro Dum. Going by the pictures Cinema Express caught hold of, the actor has upped the glamour quotient for the song. The film, directed by Anil Kumar and starring Sharan and Ashika Ranganath, marks the singing debut for Aditi Sagar. Aindrita’s outfit has been designed by Shachina Heggar, and her dance moves have been chreographed by Murli Master.

Considering this is a special song, we asked filmmaker Tharun Sudhir how it blends with the storyline. He tells us, “Basically, these songs are like energy boosters. They come at a point where the film is about to come to an end. Such kind of songs are full of energy. That’s why we make sure they are special - visually and tempo-wise.”

The director is well aware that it is important to place these songs at the right moment. “Sometimes, these special songs do take viewers off track. The beauty lies in how you infuse it into the script. Of course, films can go without a special song, or not have any songs at all too,” says Tharun.

It has become a norm to consider a lead heroine for a special song. “You need somebody who can perform. Considering new faces for special songs can go either way - people might like it or may not. But when you have an established actor, the audience will look forward to it more, and the odds in favour of it become better. So that’s the reason we try to bring in a popular actor,” he says.

The song comes during a pre-climax scene, and connects the story to the ending, says Tharun, who also reveals that Aindrita had initially said no to the song. “I still remember the day I called her, she told me, ‘Tharun, if it’s for a song, I am not doing. it. Please let me know if I have a role to play’. But I insisted on meeting her and I just asked her to listen to the song, understand its importance and realise what she might be missing out on. Within a minute and a half of listening to the song, she agreed,” says Tharun, adding that not every actor can deliver special songs.

Rambo 2, which is co-produced by Sharan, has music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by Sudhakar K Raj.
