Karthik Subbaraj clarifies his stand on the TFPC strike

The trailer of Karthik Subbaraj's Mercury was supposed to be launched on Thursday, but the filmmaker took to Twitter to announce the postponement of the trailer owing to the Cauvery issue strike. He also went on to add that Mercury will hit the screens as planned on April 13, despite the ongoing TFPC shutdown.

This tweet of Karthik Subbaraj angered several producers of Kollywood and he posted another statement on Twitter to clarify his stand. He wrote,"To clarify certain confusions, the team of Mercury has been honestly supporting the ongoing TFPC strike and we have already decided not to release the Tamil version of the film in Tamil Nadu until the strike is over."

Mercury, India's first silent thriller, features Prabhudheva, Sananth Reddy, Deepak Paramesh, Anish Padman, Remya Nambeesan and Indhuja in important roles.
