Published: 20th September 2017

The Rajinikanth-starrer Chandramukhi was an adaptation of the 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, which was also made as Apthamitra in Kannada and happened to be actress Soundarya's last film. It's now confirmed that Apthamitra 2 is happening and it'll be a remake of Sundar C's Aranmanai.

Producer Ramesh Yadav who has distributed a number of Tamil films in Karnataka has bagged the remake rights of Aranmanai, and sources say that the film won't be a scene by scene remake, but instead, will be tweaked to cater to the Kannada audience.

Sources also add that director P Vasu, who helmed Chandramukhi, might direct the Kannada film for which the pre-production works are already underway
