Ragini, Shekhar join hands for film on terrorism

Off late, Ragini Dwivedi has been choosy about her movies. She is no mood to go on a signing spree, and takes her time to pick the right scripts.

While the actress will join the next schedule of Yoganand Muddanna’s debut directorial from today, she has films such as Gandhigiri, Kicchu and Naane Next CM awaiting theatrical release. Then there is a project with Ravi Srivatsava, which is yet to go on floors. And now, we hear that Ragini will be working with PC Shekhar on a film that is heroine centric, and explores a story on terrorism.

The actress says, “I liked the outline of the film Shekhar has in mind and we are discussing it. I will be working with him and details of the of the project will be revealed once we go on floors.”

PC Shekhar confirms that the script is woven around terrorism, and it has been written keeping Ragini in mind. “Ragini and I will be working together after Nayaka, and as a friend I wanted to come up with a unique subject for her, and that took time,” he says, adding, “Ragini is a good actress and, with the experience she has, she can portray any character. On the subject front, terrorism is in the news, it is what we hear of everyday.” But he is quick to clarify that a movie on terrorism is not all about guns and battles. “My film will also depict how it influences society, and a lot of research has gone into writing the script,” the filmmaker says.

Shekar will share more details about the character and the plotline along with the first look of the film. “I am planning to do a test shoot, and I want to make sure that people see the character in the movie, not Ragini. I am confident that the audience perception about the actress on the big screen will certainly change after this film because the subject is like that,” he says.

If everything goes according to plan, Shekar will take the movie on floors from November 15.
